Boat Plans

In all his years of building sailboats my uncle always uses high quality sail boat plans. He showed me some boat designs from last year and working from the boat building plans he built an entire sailboat from starting point to end point in only 1 week.

A while back my uncle had a stroke of good fortune by finding a great deal on some sailboat plans. For less then what he would pay for only one set of boat plans he was able to invest in 254 different boat designs. There were enough sailboat plans in that collection to make it worth the investment. He couldn't believe it initially but since the company was owned and operated by a person who was born into generations of boat building as well as offering a refund my uncle could not refuse. To this day he still talks about how happy he is with his boat building plans.


My uncle loves building the sailboats from the collection of boat plans he invested in. I looked at the sailboat plans and they're quite dazzling. My personal preference from looking over the 254 boat plans is the canoe designs. That's because I am definitely a canoeing fan. Still, I am doing love the selection of sailboat designs you have to select from.


If it's one thing I learned from Uncle about building your own boat it's that you need to work from a sail boat plan that was made by a professional boat builder who has tested the boat designs. I know someone who figured he would economize by utilizing a free sailboat design but ended up losing everything he'd invested in a miscarried project and wasted material as the finished sailboat quickly sprung leaks and sunk.


Looking at the 254 boat plans my uncle got I can understand why he was so OK with his investment. The boat designs all include easily read diagrams and step by step instructions that leave nothing to speculation. The dealer he bought the boat building plans from was really generous in letting other boat builders get everything they have to know to build there favorite boats. Some good plans are hard to follow and some have not been tested. All 254 boat blueprints are easy to follow and have been thoroughly tested by pros.


I was just in the middle of writing this piece you are reading about the significance of using sailboat plans while building your own boat. Here I'm at my Uncle Ray's and right in front of me is the boat design with an image of the sailboat we went on this year. I definitely had some great times and basically ended up meeting my current shortly to be better half. It is too bad Uncle sold that sail boat already as it had some very special memories. He didn't realize the soft price that sailboat had to me when he sold it for ten times what it cost to build it. That is good business for him though.


I dream of some day building my own sailboats as a business. Every time i look at my uncle's sailboat plans I'm encouraged by how simple they're to build when you have a good boat plan to work from. There is little left to question in the instructions or diagrams of the boat designs.
